• Fresh rust staining under the hinge or motor plate. In Boca Raton’s humidity, rust blooming through a powder-coat finish means water has found the steel underneath. Once the weld line starts rusting, it’s losing section thickness every wet season.

DIY or Call Us?

Here’s the honest split. You should not attempt a weld repair on a BFT-driven gate yourself. The hinge carries the full weight of a moving gate, and a weld that looks solid can have poor penetration.
